Winding down

As my Teach 2.0 journey begins/ends I reflect on what more have I gained from this experience. I enjoyed the creation of tools to make my students better leaders. I understand how students leave their natural comfort zones of learning. This class has truly challenged me in a variety of ways. I think that this class opened a can of worms. Im excited. I'm learning things I have never seen or heard before. I'm ready to see how it truly works in the classroom. 2011-2012 School Year Here I come.

Podcast Troubles

Creating my personal podcasts. Lets just say Try Try Try again, and then you will succed. Im on this journey, nothing seems to work like it said in the manual. New equipment, new environment Nope not a new podcast. I am having difficulty creating my podcast. If anyone can help provide some additional pointers please let me know.

Today Today

Happy Birthday to Self. As side note I am on the road ahead finishing up final projects and papers. This journey has definitely been intense. Intense truly is not the appropriate word. This class has taught me so much information I feel at times overwhelmed. I as myself where do I start first. As I think about my students I think what technology tool would be most effective with each student I serve. I understand the importance of technology and the transition. I just don't know on which in of the pool I want to get in at. Do I jump in head first ir should I use the steps and ease in slowly. The goal is simple, just trying to figure out the most effective route to get there.

Webquests

In reflecting about the process of creating a Webquests. I feel the Webquest is a new technolgy savvy scavenger hunt. As we allow students to challenge ways of thinking in exploration through webquests we as teachers have to change our ways of presentation of material. This interactive experience challenges students understanding of concepts. Through these webquests teachers can collaborate to provide interdisciplinary skills and objectives. Through active research teachers can create or find webquests already created. Why reinvent the wheel? A Webquest. The quest is truly the process in which students are gaining and understanding through resources availible on the web.

Reflection

Learning about Podcasts, shows me that I may need to invest in a better computer. Some aspects of podcasts confuse me. I may seem a little behind on this concept. Practical application of this podcasts is difficult to me. I know eventually I will be a pro. Dabbling in the wonders of Microsoft makes me feel even more challenged about podcasts. I understand the concept and understand the importance. I know my students will definitely benefit from this. Everything I do is truly for my students. Educating them is my first priority. So understanding this makes me a better teacher, but in theory it makes my students better learners.

Teach 2. 0

As I transition toward the actual practical parts of this class. I find myself being a novice at soem of theses concepts. Although we as teachers teach children how often do we teach oursleves. This class allows me to actually learn by doing. The Teach 2.o in technology is challenging my thoughts and practices as a 21st century teacher.
